Club Events 2011
The programme below has been put together so that we can informally paint and sketch together.
There is no need to give prior notice of your attendance, just come along and enjoy the day.
We usually take a packed lunch, but some venues have pubs or cafes as an alternative.

Tuesday, June 7 at 10.30am
Venue/Place to Meet:
Fletching – Take the A272 from Haywards Heath to North Common (Chailey), turn left towards Sheffield Park, A275,
after a mile take right Turn to Fletching (2 miles).
Car Park is on the right 100 yds up
the main street by the Parish Hall.
It is free.
Comments/Subjects: Two pubs in the main street, general shop/café, St Andrew & St Mary’s church.
Half timbered houses in the street can be viewed from the churchyard.
Friday, June 24 at 2.30pm
Venue/Place to Meet:
Beeding & Bramber - From Haywards Heath go to Cowfold (A272) then south to Henfield (A281).
At the end of the village take the right fork at the roundabout A2037 to Upper Beeding. Village Car Park Is just
over the bridge on the right
Car Parks free.
About 16 miles from H/Heath.
Comments/Subjects: Two churches, both very sketchable, St Peter (Beeding) and St Nicholas
(Bramber) both with car parks.
Riverside walks and views, accessible from the bridge and Beeding church. Pubs and shops in the village, may be a café.
Bramber Castle ruin.

Venue/Place to Meet:
Janet’s Garden, Rose Cottage, 317 Junction Road, Burgess Hill. It’s at Worlds End, Nr Wivelsfield Station
and the Watermill Pub. Parking is limited, best by bus or train if possible. Nine of us enjoyed
our visit last year.

Comments/Subjects: A small cottage garden with seating area, pond, pergola, containers,
a sundial and plants. Janet will let us use the facilities. Worlds End has the Watermill Inn, Tasty Crust (till 2:30)
and Munchies (till 3 pm).

Venue/Place to Meet:
Ditchling: South of H.Hth on B2112. Turn left towards Lewes at the village crossroads, the car park is on the
right behind the village hall.
Comments/Subjects: Church, St Margaret’s, Friends Meeting House, Anne of Cleaves House, village
green and pond. Two pubs, two tea rooms, Museum, facilities, shops, old houses.
Tuesday, August 16 at 10.30am
Venue/Place to Meet:
Horsted Keynes: Go out through Lindfield towards Ardingly, take the right fork at the bottom of the hill to Horsted Keynes.
Car Park is next to the village club.
Comments/Subjects: Church, St Giles, is down the lane opposite the Post Office, village green,
two pubs (one new), shop. Walk from church down to lakes.
